Maggie Cooper
Stepsister / Prince Charming
Maggie Cooper is a British Mezzo-Soprano, described by ‘The Times’ as ‘captivating...naive and delicate, yet tough, touching and never cloying...she delivers with searing power and passion’. She was awarded a scholarship and trained at GSMD. Mezzo highlights include the title role of Carmen and Hexe Hänsel und Gretel. As a soprano her operatic highlights included Cio Cio San Madame Butterfly (Opera Up Close) Mimi La Boheme (Longborough Festival Opera YAP), Donna Anna Don Giovanni. Maggie is passionate about contemporary opera. She recently premiered the role of Princess Diana in ‘A Silver Spoon’ by Lisa Logan with Anthony Hose at the Beaumaris Festival.

Dominic Mattos
Dad / Stepmother
Dominic Mattos completed his MMus at RNCM in 2022, studying under Jane Irwin, where he was generously supported by the RNCM, the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Award, and the Waverley Fund. He holds a Sybil Tutton Award from Help Musicians UK. Most recently Dominic covered Ruggiero for Opera North (Alcina), sang Didymus in Handel’s Theodora for Essex Baroque, and David in Saul for Aylesbury Opera. Other operatic roles include Refugee in Dove’s Flight and Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus for RNCM Opera. A recent convert to classical music, Dominic had a prior career in cabaret. He still performs in panto.

Rebecca Milford
Rebecca / Cinderella
Rebecca Milford is a London-based Soprano, originally from Sussex.
In the 2021/22 operatic season Rebecca enjoyed a busy schedule of dynamic roles, such as ‘Chocholka’ and ‘Vixen (cover)’ in Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen (Hampstead Garden Opera), ‘Anne Page (cover)’ for in Vaughn Williams’ Sir John in Love (British Youth Opera) and ‘Frasquita’ in Bizet’s Carmen (Opera Brava). Rebecca recently graduated with Distinction from the Guildhall Artist Master Programme under the tutelage of John Evans and the recipient of the Sheila White Scholarship, as well as the Anne Wyburd Prize for German Lied which she won with pianist Florent Mourier.

Fiona Finsbury
Mum / Stepsister (the other one)
Fiona Finsbury trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre arts and the Royal Northern College of Music. Recent work includes: Mother in Lambs at the Royal Opera House, Albina in La Donna Del Lago at Buxton Festival, Niña in Ainadamar at Scottish Opera, Miranda in The Dancing Master at Buxton Festival, The Witch in Hansel and Gretel at Opera Holland Park for BYO, Nedda in Pagliacci at Iford, Violetta in La Traviata for Opera D’draig, and Mavie in The 47th Saturday at Wexford. Prior to studying at the RNCM, Fiona was in the West End cast of The Phantom of The Opera.

Matthew Quirk
Fairy Godfather
Before setting up Merry Opera, Matthew spent many years advising boardrooms of European companies where he saw passions played out in operatic dimensions. For Merry Opera: Leporello Don Giovanni, Basilio Barber of Seville, Bartolo Marriage of Figaro, Sarastro Magic Flute, Germont La Traviata, Benoit/Alcindoro La Boheme, Marcus Kiss Me, Figaro!, Sergeant of Police Pirates of Penzance, bass soloist in staged productions of Handel’s Messiah and Verdi Requiem. Elsewhere: Raimbaud Count Ory, Kecal Bartered Bride, The Old Man in Bloch’s Macbeth, Swallow Peter Grimes, Drunken Poet Fairy Queen, Polyphemus Acis and Galatea. He has also performed concerts of opera and cabaret items on tour and at St Martin-in-the-Fields.

Billy Kyle
Billy from Next Door
William Kyle is a baritone originally from Warwickshire. He is a current member of Wexford Festival Opera’s young artist program, and this summer was a Nevill Holt Opera Associate Artist, performing in their productions of La bohème and Il barbiere di Siviglia. He also performed as Page in British Youth Opera’s production of Sir John in Love. William is a recent graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, where he has performed roles including Il Conte in Le nozze di Figaro, Ein Musiklehrer in Ariadne auf Naxos and Harašta in The Cunning Little Vixen.

Martins Smaukstelis
Prince Charming (yes, another one)
Martins is a Latvian born tenor based in London. He initially trained as a violinist before moving to the UK to pursue vocal studies at the Royal Academy of Music. Martins has worked with such companies as Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Garsington Opera, Grange Festival, New Opera Singapore and Wexford Festival Opera among others.
His recent opera roles include the title role in Cavalli's L'Egisto, Don Basilio/Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro and Schoolmaster/Mosquito in The Cunning Little Vixen (HGO), Adrian in L'enfant prodigue (The Opera Makers), Lucano in L'incoronazione di Poppea (New Opera Singapore), Distiller in May Night (RAO) and Prince in Viardot's Cendrillon (St Paul's Opera).
